Instructor

NickSaveryNick Savery, Sensei, began his training in Kyokushin over 20 years ago at the age of 7. He graded for his Shodan (1st degree blackbelt) in October 2004, Nidan (2nd degree blackbelt) in April 2010, and Sandan (3rd degree blackbelt) in November 2015 under Shihan Tom Flynn. Over his long Kyokushin career, Sensei Nick has had the great fortune of training with many highly regarded names in Kyokushin, including Kancho Yoshikazu Suzuki and Saiko Shihan Daigo Oishi of Japan, Shihan Cameron Quinn of Australia, and Shihans Randolf James and Michael Lorden of the US.

Outside of the dojo, Sensei Nick works as an Embedded Software Engineering consultant. His strong background in science and engineering gives Sensei Nick a unique perspective on his study of karate. Students receive the benefit of a deeper understanding of the body mechanics and physics that can be leveraged for the effective application of karate.

Stop by the dojo and meet the family!  Sensei Nick shares his love of Kyokushin with all of his students, including his wife and young son.  We can hardly wait to see this little guy join our kids class!
